Arras Vintage Blanc de Blancs 2013
Region: Tasmania - East Coast, Derwent Valley & Coal River
House of Arras was established in 1995 with the vision of creating the most exceptional Sparkling wines in Australia by sourcing grapes from Tasmania. With the legendary Ed Carr at the helm, Arras became the most celebrated and awarded Australian sparkling wine. To put Ed Carr’s achievements in perspective, Ed was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Champagne & Sparkling Wine Championships 2018 for his contribution to the development and success of the sparkling wine industry. He is the only non-champenois winemaker to receive the award.
This Blanc de Blancs 2013 is certainly amongst Ed’s finest wine so far. 100% Chardonnay sourced from Tasmania's East Coast, Derwent Valley & Coal River. 7% fermented in new French oak barriques. 7 years on lees and only 3g/L dosage. Beautifully complex and pure, it reminds you of Meursault’s minerality and poise. Toasty and creamy notes complete this extraordinary wine.
