Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat, Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2013
Region: Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru - Bourgogne
Variety: Pinot Noir
Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noëlat is now a reference in Burgundy. It was established in 1962 by Alain Hudelot. His grandson and upcoming Burgundy star Charles Van Canneyt is now in charge. Based in the Côte de Nuits village of Vougeot, the Domaine covers 10ha of vineyards over 4 villages and 15 appellations including icons like Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, 1er Cru “Les Suchots” and, of course, Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru.
Hudelot-Noëllat owns 0.7ha of 60 year old vines in the Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot, split over two small parcels, both situated in the best part of the Grand Cru, a few meters away from Musigny Grand Cru.
This is a powerful wine from 2013, made with 20% whole bunch and aged in 50% new French oak.
