Rill House "Dashing Red Fox" Pinot Noir 2019
Region: Macedon Ranges - Victoria
Variety: Pinot Noir (100% MV6 Clone)
With only a few acres planted in the early 90s on a very cool site at over 650m altitude in the Macedon Ranges, owners Caroline Aebersold and Richard Price are dedicated to producing super premium Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, all managed organically and perfectly suited to the unique vineyard’s conditions.
At 650m altitude, this is true cool climate for Victoria, resulting in a very slow and late ripening season, with cool nights and sunny days often resulting in intense red berry notes for Pinot Noir. This wine is made from a very small 0.35Ha, organically grown, Pinot Noir block (100% MV6 clone).
The wine was fermented by indigenous yeasts and aged in 30% new French oak. Delivering plenty of cherry and other red berry flavours. It is crunchy and savoury, superbly balanced with velvety tannins.
