Chateau Beau Soleil Pomerol 2015
Region: Pomerol - Right Bank - Bordeaux
Varieties: 95% Merlot , 5% Cabernet Franc
This small 3.5Ha vineyard is located to the south west of the Pomerol plateau, on a mixture of sands and fine gravel, with a subsoil known to be highly ferruginous, commonly known as "iron grime" which gives its typicality to the Pomerol terroir. Since 2005, it has been owned by Thierry Rustmann, well known in the Bordeaux wine industry for his management of Château Talbot and Château Sénéjac.
The small Pomerol appellation (only 800Ha) on Bordeaux’s right bank is famous for Pétrus, one of the rarest and most expensive wines in the world. Unlike its neighbour Saint-Emilion, the Pomerol appellation was not included in the 1855 classification, however wines from Pomerol are regarded as highly as its neighbour. In Pomerol, Merlot is king, the clay soils of the terroir of this appellation allow it to express itself like nowhere else.
